Olufemi Ogundele
Associate Vice Chancellor & Dean of Enrollment Management at University of California, Berkeley
Dr. Olufemi “Femi” Ogundele is the Associate Vice Chancellor & Dean of Enrollment Management at UC Berkeley. In this role, Femi provides vision, strategy and leadership in the recruitment and evaluation at the University of California’s flagship campus. He is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet and oversees the Office of Undergraduate Admission, the Financial Aid Office, the Registrar, the Center for Educational Partnerships, and the Visitor’s Center. His vision and leadership in undergraduate admissions outreach initiatives targeting the state’s LGBTQ+, undocumented, underserved and first-generation students have resulted in four consecutive years of the most ethnically and geographically diverse classes of students enrolled at Berkeley in three decades.
Tyrone C. Howard, Ph.D.
Professor, School of Education & Information Studies, University of California, Los Angeles
Dr. Tyrone Howard is a professor of education in the School of Education & Information Studies at UCLA. His research addresses issues tied to race, culture, access and educational opportunity for minoritized student populations. Professor Howard is the author of several best-selling books. He is a native of Compton, California where he also served as a classroom teacher. Professor Howard is a member of the National Academy of Education and has been listed by Education Week as one of the 200 most influential educational scholars in the nation on education practice, policy, and research. Professor Howard is currently the President of the American Education Research Association, which is the nation’s largest organization focused on educational research and policy.
Julian Jackson
Undergraduate Student at UC San Diego
Julian Jackson, a first-generation African American sophomore at UC San Diego, majors in Physics with a minor in Computer Science. He is passionate about understanding Black Hole formation and Gamma Ray Bursts. Julian aims to conduct groundbreaking research at NASA, exploring the mysteries of the cosmos.
Autumn Johnson
Director of the African American Resource and Cultural Center, University of California Santa Cruz
Autumn Johnson (She/Her/Hers) is an alumni of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the Director of the African American Resource and Cultural Center at UC Santa Cruz. Autumn holds her M.A. in Equity and Social Justice in Education from San Francisco State University, where she served as the Senior Director for Culture & Social Justice Programs for 3 years after finishing her program. She was born and raised in West LA, and continues to serve as a volunteer for youth in that area through the YMCA.
Dee’Anna Segee
Alumni Leader, University of California Davis
Dee’Anna Segee is an experienced policy analyst and project manager with a passion for creating positive change in communities. A 2019 graduate of the University of California, Davis, Dee’Anna moved to the East Coast to continue her education and professional journey. In 2021, she earned a Master’s in Social Work from Howard University. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she now resides in Washington, DC, where she serves as a Senior Community Development Specialist. In her current role, she works closely with federal agencies to ensure states and U.S. territories receive funding to run critical social service programs.
Throughout her career, Dee’Anna has led high-impact projects that address important issues like food insecurity, housing inequities, and youth violence. She has also held roles within the DC government, where she collaborated with city leaders to implement data-driven solutions for community needs.
