Lisa S. Berrien, M.Ed.
Director of Financial Aid

As the director of Financial Aid at Spelman College, Lisa Berrien leads the administration of federal, state and institutional aid programs.

With over 30 years of experience, Berrien previously served as the senior associate director in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she managed operations and compliance. She holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University and a Master of Education in Higher Education from Northeastern University.

Jillian M. Glaze  
Senior Director of Student Financial Services, Bunker Hill Community College

Jillian M. Glaze is the Senior Director of Student Financial Services at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston. At one of Massachusetts’ most diverse college campuses, Jillian enjoys working closely with students from many cultures, languages, and life experiences, and she believes deeply that every student deserves opportunity.

With nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, Jillian strives to explain complex financial aid processes in practical ways that empower families to make informed decisions. She serves in leadership roles in organizations such as the College Board, Massachusetts Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Eastern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and frequently presents on college affordability and access. In 2025, she was honored with the Edward M. Kennedy Public Service Award, recognizing her commitment to service, advocacy, and student success. Jillian’s work is grounded in one simple goal: helping students feel confident and supported as they pursue their dreams.

Kellie Nehring
Assistant Vice Provost for Financial Aid 

Kellie Nehring is a financial aid leader with over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, student services, and financial aid management. She currently serves as the Assistant Vice Provost for Financial Aid at the University of San Diego (USD), where she provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for the university's financial aid programs, overseeing a $235 million budget. Prior to becoming AVP, Kellie held several key positions at USD, including Director and Assistant Director of Financial Aid. Her extensive background also includes roles at San Diego State University, where she managed the Direct Loan program and led campus outreach initiatives. Kellie holds a Master of Arts in Communication from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is a transformational leader committed to enhancing the student experience and ensuring equitable access to higher education. As an active member of the professional community, she holds leadership roles and memberships in several national and regional associations, including NASFAA, WASFAA, and the College Board.
