Claire Lorenz
Senior Director, AP School Experience

Claire Lorenz, Senior Director, AP School Experience, works to help schools expand access to Advanced Placement courses and support student success once they’re enrolled. In her role, she focuses on how AP works in real schools — including scheduling, advising, and student support — to ensure that all students who want to take AP have a fair opportunity to do so and the tools they need to succeed. Claire brings a practical, student-centered perspective to conversations about AP, grounded in the realities schools, students, and families face every day.

Laurie McDonald
Algebra 2 Teacher

Laurie McDonald is an AP Precalculus and Algebra 2 teacher at Atlantic Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She has been a math teacher for 29 years, and has taught courses from middle school math to calculus in both in-person and virtual settings.

Laurie was excited to be a part of the launch of AP Precalculus, and has participated in the AP Reading since the inaugural reading in 2024. She is passionate about expanding access to college level mathematics for students through this exciting course. She is committed to supporting teachers and students as they grow strong and inclusive AP math programs and is honored to serve as an AP Precalculus Consultant.

Outside of the classroom, Laurie is mom to a 17-year-old daughter who is the light of her life (who patiently puts up with her mother’s constant math chatter!). As a family, they love to travel and explore new and unique places.
